Effect of Blasting Stress Wave on Dynamic Crack Propagation

چکیده
Stress waves affect the stress field at crack tip and dominate dynamic propagation. Therefore, evaluating influence of blasting on propagation behavior mechanical characteristics is great significance for engineering blasting. In this study, ANSYS/LS-DYNA was used numerical simulation, in which distribution were closely observed. Moreover, ABAQUS applied simulating path calculating intensity factors (DSIFs). The universal function calculated by fractal method. results show that: compressive wave causes to close reflected tensile drives initiate propagate, failure mode mainly failure. velocity varies with time, increases first then decreases, arrest occurs due attenuation dissipation energy. addition, toughness smaller than initiation toughness, pressure waveforms (such as peak pressure, duration, waveforms, wavelengths loading rates) have a DSIFs. It conducive our deep understanding or study dominated fracture, suggesting broad reference further development rock practice.

Effect of Crack Blunting on Subsequent Crack Propagation
Theories of toughness of materials depend on an understanding of the characteristic instabilities of the crack tip, and their possible interactions. In this paper we examine the effect of dislocation emission on subsequent cleavage of a crack and on further dislocation emission. The work is an extension of the previously published Lattice Greens Function methodology[1, 2, 3]. We have developed ...

A supervised binary 10 classification problem is defined to distinguish damaged steel specimens 11 from intact specimens. Sets of time-series wave propagation data collected 12 by the fatigue crack sensor are utilized for the proposed scheme. In order to 13 apply supervised ...
متن کاملPoint-based Dynamic Deformation and Crack Propagation
In this paper, we articulate a novel meshless computational paradigm for the effective modeling, accurate physical simulation, and rapid visualization of solid objects. The uniqueness of our approach is that both the interior and the boundary of our new volumetric representation are point-based, generalizing the powerful and popular method of point-sampled surfaces. We also build the point-base...
متن کاملEffect of micromorphology of cortical bone tissue on crack propagation under dynamic loading
Structural integrity of bone tissue plays an important role in daily activities of humans. However, traumatic incidents such as sports injuries, collisions and falls can cause bone fracture, servere pain and mobility loss. In addition, ageing and degenerative bone diseases such as osteoporosis can increase the risk of fracture [1]. As a composite-like material, a cortical bone tissue is capable...
متن کاملEffect of Compressive Residual Stress on the Corner Crack Growth
In the present study, plasticity induced crack closure (PICC) concept and three dimensional (3D) finite element methods (FEM) are used to study the effect of compressive residual stress field on the fatigue crack growth from a hole. To investigate the effect of compressive residual stress on crack opening levels and crack shape evolution, Carlson’s experiments were simulated. Crack shape evolut...
